So I return from vacation only to find 300 invitations in my inbox on Linkedin. Normally, I would be happy to accept all these invites since I am an Open Networker. As I attempted to check all and click accept I noticed something was awry. I clicked Accept, I clicked again, and again, an again. I logged off and logged back in and clicked again. But they weren't "Accepting". So after trying off and on over several days I figured Linkedin was having one of their typical programming problems and wrote customer service explaining the problem.
Below is the reply I received: > Thank you for contacting LinkedIn Customer Support. You are no longer capable of mass accepting invites. You will need to go in and accept them one by one. > We apologize for any inconvenience. > Have a great day Jeff! > Regards,
I have not received a reply as to why I am unable to mass accept but I think it's pretty save to assume that Linkedin is attempting to stop Open Networkers by making it massively inconvenient. (FYI I have over 9400 first level connections)
By my count that's at least 4 or 5 attempts at shutting down Open Networkers.
This wil obviously dramatically change how Open Networkers work on Linkedin. Be prepared to Accept each and every invite individually if you are "tagged" as an Open Networker by Linkedin.
Jeff Weidner Typically I would sign my post with my Linkedin email address but then I'd have to go in and Accept all the damn invites I'd get from people reading this post. Ehh I'll put it in anyway just out of spite but don't expect me to Accept for several days, possibly weeks, maybe a month. Worst case 2 months.

Hi Jeff,
Try this. IGNORE the customer support message. Select all on a page with invites. Press "Enter" on your keyboard. You should be able to accept all invitations on the page at once. Feel free to give me a call or email at irina@braingainrecruiting.

Irina, As per LI's customer support (see below) they have disabled the "check all and Accept" feature.
So now I am right clicking, opening up each invite in a new tab, clicking on each tab clicking accept and then going to the next tab. It's a minor inconvenience when you have 20-50 invites. It's a big PITA when you have 300 invites.
As for why didn't they take off the select all box. Programming wise it's a pain. they'd have to redesign the entire layout of that one section of table on that one page when they are probably gearing up to redesign the entire thing anyway. It's just easier to remove the fuction.

Hi Jeff, I wanted to let you know, I do not think this feature is gone. Try this. Select multiple people on your invitation page and press ENTER. When I do this, I get a dialog asking me whether I want to accept all. Let me know if this works for you. LinkedIn is making money charging for Inmails, paid accounts that let you connect easily etc. - no wonder they are trying to limit ways where you would connect with other people for free. Hi Jeff,
A more basic question is why does LinkedIn still have the accept all option there.
A simpler and a non-confusing way would be to just take out the option of accepting multiple invites.
BTW, I too was facing the same problem.

Latest Update:
Can I ask as to why I can not mass Accept invited any more. Did linkedin change their User Agreement in a way that I am mot aware of that stops all users from Mass Accepting Invties?

MY Reply back to them again.... asking why I can not mass accept invites.
So does this change affect all users or only certain users. And if it affects only certain users why is my account being affected by the change?
