Welcome to the New-Hire Onboarding discussion Group. Since this is �??where ERE Network members come to discuss and debate issues related to recruiting and talent management�?�, I thought we'd focus on the talent management part of the equation here. For the purposes of this discussion, we are in the stage of the staffing process were you�??ve found the candidate, sent the offer letter and s/he has said, �??Yes�?�. OK, now what happens? Please share your professional perspectives and views on the lifecycle of the new-hire onboarding process. The saying goes; �??a first impression is a lasting one". Is onboarding a topic garnering increasing awareness and attention in your organization? Do you believe a good onboarding process can/will improve employee retention? What constitutes a world class onboarding process? Can it be just a people-driven process, just an automated process, or does it really require a hybrid of the two in order to effectively drive ROI? What are some of the key things you would look for/expect software to be able to do that would benefit you?...Benefit the new employee? Is an onboarding process really separate and distinguished from an ongoing �??employee relationship management process�?? that HR typically plays a role in? Can an investment in an effective onboarding application help you actually SAVE your company $$$$?
