Lawyer Recruitment

Hi everyone.  I just joined the group and wanted to introduce myself.  I am the President and Senior Lawyer Recruiter at Northwest Legal Search, a legal search firm I established in 1987 out of Portland, Oregon.  I'm a former manager of large law firms in the NW.  I place lawyers exclusively, primarily in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR and the Rocky Mountain and Northern California areas.  I have placed General Counsels in companies to junior-level associates (hundreds) at law firms over the past 20 years, but my primary search "sweet spot" is in-house counsel for corporations.  I hope to work with some of you in the future.  Have a successful day.  Linda Pierce

PS I enjoy wine, especially Oregon pinot noir, and have a wine blog on my separate site devoted to event planning for lawyers in wine country:    Lawyers Who Wine (www.lawyerswhowine.com)

Recruiting fees in France

Would be great if someone could help me with the fee methodology that is used for executive recruitment in France.

What is the base on which the success fee is calculated? I understand that almost half of the remuneration package is towards social security and taxes. How does this impact the base on which the fee is calculated?

What are the typical success fee rates charged for mid to senior legal hires in France?

Any tips or advice would be welcome.

Of Counsel Fee Agreement

I am trying to structure a fee agreement for an Of Counsel attorney. There are many variables, since this not a straight salary position. I was thinking of a formula of: 20% of hourly pay rate x estimated billable hours for the first year.

Any advice?

Former attorney in Dallas, TX trying to re-enter field

Greetings,

I am working with a legal candidate in the Dallas area. He was a former attorney with experience as an assistant city attorney as well as his own criminal defense practice- in all, about 12 years' experience. He lost his license in 2001 when he left the workforce (an unexpected health condition). Now he is back in the running and aiming to re-enter with a paralegal opportunity. Can anyone offer any advisement on this?

Thanks!

Legal Recruiters -- Compensation

I am a Healthcare Recruiter that is thinking of venturing into Legal Recruiting. I have an interview with a staffing firm in Baltimore this week. Was wondering if there are any Legal Recruiters in the Maryland/DC market that could share compensation information -- What could a high performing recruiter make at an agency their first year?

Any information would be helpful.

I'm a young attorney who recently stopped practicing law to head up the legal division of an executive recruiting firm. I am building this division from the ground up so even though I have a good legal background, I am not experienced in the recruiting field. I would love some advice on how to break into the market, tips on most valuable candidates etc. Thanks for any help you can give me.
