Hi everyone, I am doing some work for a start up in California in the social networking space. They are starting to set up benefits and are asking for suggestions as to what might be important to potential candidates. They are considering employer paid full medical coverage - do companies really do this anymore? What types of packages are you seeing out there. Any creative, or especially interesting benefits that are still around after the .com bubble? Any suggestions or advice would be helpful, especially employee VS. employee paid benefits. Thank you! Paying 100% for benefits is something that candidates really respond to. Not many companies do it, but some of the key ones do and they tend to win when candidates have multiple offers. One of my clients pays 100% and it's a huge selling point. It's a benefit that really matters to people.

Tami,
We cover 80% of the employee premiums, which beats many of the companies in our area (DC) except the federal gov't. We also give people 3 weeks vacation from the start, not 2 weeks and the "magical" 3rd week after 5 or more years.
We've received positive feedback about it thus far.
