Job Fox or Net Temps? follow this discussion

    started 13 months ago by

Has anyone had any success using Job Fox or net temps? We are looking at adding another job board and we are in the IT Consulting space. I have heard mixed reviews on both and was hoping to get some specific feedback?

    Thank you for your help!

I would agree with others that pay per click advertising is the best bang for the buck, especially sponsoring your jobs with Indeed and/or SimplyHired to get them to the top of their search results. Details are at...

      https://ads.indeed.com/

      http://www.simplyhired.com/a/advertiser-solutions/get-started

If your jobs aren't already listed with them, you can post them for free on Smuz.com

We even have a tool that allows you to sponsor jobs directly from our site at...

      Hope this helps.

I haven't used Net Temps before, but my organization currently has a trial period with JobFox. I agree with many of the assessments already written about JobFox. While the concept is interesting, in my opinion JobFox hasn't lived up to the expectations set by their sales team.

If you have a sales demo I recommend coming with some of your most unique jobs and have the sales person build the profile for each job in front of you. Also, when the system pulls up resume matches, ask to see the actual resume of the person with the strongest match rating. That way you'll be able to see if JobFox contains job information that you'll really be able to use.

We did a "trail" w/ JobFox...and now just letting the contract end. Overall, as you pointed out, very cumbersome in getting the "straight" talk..posting is restrictive...using their "parameters" and resume alert responses are so long constantly scrolling just to get to the attached resume. Applicants can "modify" themselves too easily to appear like a "match" for the prospective employer, but after reviewing the resume, the reviewer is disappointed. One good thing...always end on good note: great way to receive passive candidates.

Hi Kathleen, A recent SHRM survey found that 75% of all Candidates now start their job searches on one of the major search engines. So, I agree with Eden Shaffer's recommendation re: Search Engine marketing. But instead of specific key word buys on the search engines, why not try employing a comprehensive Search Engine Optimization (SEO)strategy?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of editing and organizing the content on a webpage or across a website to increase its potential relevance to specific keywords on search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. This is done with the aim of achieving a higher organic search listing and thus increasing the volume of traffic from search engines.

Climber.com is the only career site utilizing comprehensive SEO strategies to increase the visibility of jobs AND individual Recruiters to Candidates conducting a key word search on all of the major search engines.

In the end, SEO when done correctly is a more cost effective and provides better long-term results than key word buys. Please let me know if you would like to discuss further.

A great suggestion over the job boards would be to try search engine marketing with specific key word buys on the search engines like Yahoo & Google and job aggregators such as Indeed.com & SimplyHired.

      Hi Kathleen,

I've used NetTemps in the past, but can't give good feedback on their current efforts. However, I can give you my feedback on JobFox. I'll start out by saying that their concept is awesome! And I don't mind putting in the extra effort putting in information to get the best candidates possible. However, we are an Oracle-centric company and while I informed JobFox of my concerns in the beginning, they were adament they JobFox could work for us. Unfortunately, it is not. They are trying to make things better, but I haven't seen an improvement thus far. To be specific they are missing very important parts of our business. I'd like to see them add different tools/languages/etc. (OWB, OBIEE, Discoverer, ETL) Things that are important for our candidates to have. They haven't added these so far. The outcome---I get A LOT of candidates that don't fit at all, which has been my cause for concern. I've seriously have had only one candidate since May that is remotely close to fitting in our sweet spot.

I agree with the other post. I would definitely do a trial. They do have a 90 day guarantee, but I did not find that gave me enough time to really see the "real deal". So I'm stuck until the contract runs out.

Although I know it's a business, I wish that companies had some sort of "rule" in place that if a product doesn't work and you've done everything there is to fix it, but it still doesn't work, cut the contract.

Hi Kathleen, We've been using Jobfox for a couple months, and like others, have experienced mixed results. While there are a wealth of new candidates we haven't found from other sources, it can be very time-consuming to put in jobs and sort through the results. The folks at Jobfox, however, are trying to work out the bugs and have been relatively helpful. Either try for a conditional trial membership (making sure all the conditions are completely spelled out), or wait a few months to see if they've ironed out the problems...
