ATS Implementation and Project Management

This group is for all of those interested in sharing information about implementing and managing an Applicant Tracking System. Although there are many different systems and vendors out there, we as project managers and leads have at sometime encountered the same issues. Here we can discuss all aspects from vendor selection to "Going Live", best practices and all the issues associated with adding an ATS to recruiting function.

Strengths and Weaknesses of ATS vendors

Other than Gartner's "Magic Quadrant" for recruiting, does anyone have any information on the strengths and weaknesses of various best-in-class and HR ERP ATS vendors (Brass Ring, Taleo, PeopleClick, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.)?

Thanks!

Self-Hosted Client/Server ATS recommendation needed

I'm looking for a Self-hosted Client/Sever ATS software specifically for Third Party Recruiters. I??m moving from web-based product and not interested in going back to ASP.

I need a robust system which parses well (including PDF), integrates with Outlook, and is affordable for 1 license. <$2,000K with annual maintenance / upgrade fees $150.00 or less.

Please provide the PROS and CONS to your recommended software and WHY you would recommend it over others you??ve used.

THANK YOU in advance for your replies, and PLEASE no calls from ATS software salespeople.

ATS & MFG Applicants

We have an ATS system we recently put in place but getting some pushback from managers in our Manufactuing area to utilize the tool (80% of workforce are manufactuing labored employees) . The ATS system we have is a paperless application process so potential workers will no longer be able to fill out paper applications.  Managers are affraid that their candidate pool will drop becuase they will not have access to a computer or will tend not to complete an on-line application due to difficulty in using a computer. Can anyone please respond on simular difficulties and how they were resolved?

Going out of Business? I may want to buy your Client / Server ATS

I'm looking to buy a self hosted DESKTOP ATS - ONLY.

With many smaller recruiters and employment agencies closing shop, I wanted to know if anyone is willing to sell their software if it's current and not more than 2 years old.

Let me stop all the ATS vendors from calling right now, I want a self-hosted, DESKTOP ATS ONLY.  Let me stop all who are going to ask "WHY not web based?" answer: Personal Preference.

Thanks

Lisa

WebPas vs. MaxHire

Has anyone here converted (or know of anyone who has) from WebPas to MaxHire. We are currently looking at MaxHire and SendOuts as new ATS systems for my organization and we are currently with VCG and using WebPas. Was there any issues getting your data from VCG? Any thoughts on MaxHire vs. SendOuts?

Thank You,

Kevin Dunn

Are you dead in the water leading into the next hiring boom?

The New Breed of Recruiter and Web 2.0 Recruitment

Are you dead in the water for the next hiring boom?

For more information and to download a copy of this white paper visit: Article Download

Brightmove releases a new white paper on the next big recruitment boom. With the economy on the verge of a rebound, Brightmove and many industry analysts predict a game changing shift in the recruitment space.

"Social media offers direct personal interaction for our customers. It allows recruiters to reach out to a target audience with relevant career options. Gone are the days of blind recruitment calls" remarked David Webb, CEO Brightmove, Inc.

With every great economic shift, there has been a technology shift that has gone hand in hand. Our latest article examines the effects of Social Media as a means of recruiting top talent as the economy begins to recover.

According to Mr. Webb, "Our customers need fast direct access to talent and social media is emerging as the way forward.", Webb goes further to say, "While a necessity today, the future of resume database sites may have a very grim fate as sites such as Spoke, LinkedIn and Facebook become the sourcing tools of the choice moving into an economic upturn."

Free ATS for Startups

In the spirit of choosing an Applicant Tracking System, and the potential benefits of using one, BrightMove has released a "Lite" version of it's ATS that is free to use for limited number of users (2). I have authorized this release in an effort to help startup recruiting and staffing agencies get a system in place in order to help them become profitable and successful companies.

We started BrightMove as an internal project for our newborn staffing agency in 2004. Since then, the application has grown into a mature and fully functional ATS. I have walked in the shoes of the recuriters and staffing company owners and know the pain of continuously mounting monthly expenses. Our hope is that BrightMove can help surpass some of the financial hurdles that new companies face. We welcome your feedback.

Thank you, David Webb SVP and Co-Founder BrightMove, Inc. (www.brightmove.com)

Hiredesk vs Maxhire

We've been actively evaluating MaxHire and Hiredesk and they've rated well against our selection criteria. I'm wondering if there are folks that have had practical experience with both solutions and can offer opinions or comparisons.

As a general comment, we find that Hiredesk has adopted a more flexible design and thus can potentially be more adaptive to new requirements. Speed is a slight concern and has been frequently mentioned as an issue on other internet postings.

With Maxhire, the keyword search capability is a very powerful tool and the overall speed and response of the application appeared to be consistently better than other web-based solutions. The design however does not appear to be as accommodating to different requirements.

So if you have relevant experience you can share, I'd be very appreciative of your input.

Thanks for you help.

Looking to buy into an ATS, need some advice

I'm currently working for a company looking to purchase an Applicant Tracking System to handle it's applicants. The company itself is not in staffing, they do manufacturing and have a few hundred low level applicants for each job they post on Careerbuilder. As a recruiter, I've worked with Kenexa Recruiter, Bullhorn, Ceridian, Peoplesoft, and Staffsuite in the past. Bullhorn's been my favorite to date, but was wondering if any of you wise individuals might be able to provide your own insight based on these criteria:

A system (database) to store up to 3 years of candidate data (2 full years required at any time per OFCCP/AA regs -- previous 2 years plus ytd) & more than 2,000 candidates per year

Data fields I think we need: personal (last, first name, address, tele, email); AA related (race/ethnic, sex, veteran status); j job/campaign related (unique campaign identifier, EEO category, department, campaign open/close date) or ability to relate each candidate to a specific campaign with this job/campaign data; applicant applied and interviewed dates; "disposition" code (minimally qualified/not selected, not minimally qualified, offered interview/declined or otherwise withdrew, unable to contact, declined job offer, hired); ability to define other, additional fields would be nice Preferably web-based, but server-resident software license could fly Report writing capability and capability to download data to EXCEL for reporting/analysis

Response letter and email generating capability - "Thanks, got your resume, will be contacting the best and brightest, here's a voluntary AA info form" type letter is the main one - or at least the ability to download formatted name/address/etc to a letter generator like WORD.

Less than 10K per year cost

User friendly touch/feel Accessible by up to 4 users

Nice to have: Online application capability (fill out or attach resume) Interface with ADP payroll system Less than 5K per year cost! Resume/application bank for hiring

Evaluation Tool

Does anyone have a tool/checklist that you used to compare and evaluate different ATS solutions? I'll need to customize it for our use, but I'd like to see what someone else used. Anyone willing to share?

We're going to be looking at PositionManager, JobScience and Lawson eRecruiting.

Thanks!

PeopleSoft ATs: can it auto-tag candidates by source?

For PeopleSoft, Oracle, and Lawson HCM module users -- has anyone had success auto-tagging inbound applicants by their source?

I realize many use pull-down menus for applicants to self-selct how they ended up at the career site (e.g. employee referral, named job board, etc.). Obviously this is far less reliable than adding a parameter to the referring URL to automatically capture the online source of that candidate.

Thanks -- Peter

HRIS/ATS System

I am responsible for choosing a vendor for our HRIS/ATS for a company that is growing. It was about 110 about 6 months ago and by September we should be around 200 and more growth to come. There are so many out there and not sure which ones people presently use. We are leaning more toward Sage Abra HRMS system. Does anyone have any suggestions on this one?

CRM/Sourcing Tool

Has anyone implemented a tool that can track candidates that are in the sourcing pool outside of an ATS but can integrate with an ATS. I am researching systems that track bios, pictures, references, organizational structures, etc. on sources that are reportable. I have heard of ACT!, Siebel, Ariba, TigerPaw, etc. I was wondering if anyone had experiencing with any of these systems or could recommend any other tools.

Taleo

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone out there has had a bad experience working with Taleo. We have signed on with them and although I am not the point person on the implementation, we are having the darnest time working with them and getting our system the way we want it.

Any feedback?
