Hello all,
I have seen a number of offers recently for offshore souring operations charging as little as $5/hour. We are looking for simple name generation from electronic sources only (job boards, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and don't need telephone sourcing. Does anyone have experience with any of these low cost providers - either good or bad?
Thank you.
Joe

We have used Small Biz Info Systems http://smallbisrpo.com, and we have been very happy. They enter contacts into excel spreadsheets, find contacts on the internet, work to clean up our database, etc. I find them very reliable, cordial, and trustworthy.

At our company, we pride ourselves on using all available tools to increase our pool of qualified candidates. Our candidate sourcing is mostly handled by individual recruiters, but they do get help from resume sourcers, sales reps, and even the partners. We've evaluated a lot of options to increase candidate sourcing, including the offshore sourcing options. I personally temped/tested several vendors last year. Just like everything else in the recruiting world (and life), for the most part, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a high volume, low quality option to generate resume volume, then these offshore options may be worth it. However, we were given resumes that were of no value to us for several reasons. 1) 50-60% of the resumes were already in our database or on the job boards 2) 20% of the resumes were candidates who were not on the job market 3) 20% of the resumes were not of use to us due to candidate location, lack of skills, lack of experience, etc. Therefore, we were only able to even consider 10% of the resumes, which ended up not being worth our time spent to justify working with the different services. There is a lot of time tied up to coordinating job specs, candidate specs, reviewing resumes, etc. We have found that our time is better spent focusing on candidate relationships to increase quality of our candidate pool over volume.
Hope this helps,

Kurt, can you explain to us exactly what "active sourcing" is? Thanks!

I have used some offshore board scraping and name generation while I was at PwC and Futurestep, and we were not very successful. Our company does Name Generation by active sourcing and e-mail contact, and with a splash page we can track results, and provide ROI and reporting. Our hourly rate ($22) is higher than offshore, but the results are better and the sourcers sit right here in Atlanta and are led by Project Managers and myself.

Tell us,exactly, if you would, what your telephony search is. How you do it - what the results are GUARANTEED TO BE. Where it's performed from? Who does it? What exactly is the process?

Joe:
I guess you must have heard from my Organization w.r.t the SOURCING SERVICE as we offer this service for $5/Hour.
In addition to that, we also offer NAME GENERATION SERVICES, if its only Internet Research, we charge $7/Hour and if TELEPHONY is involved then we charge $9/Hour.
I have seen Companies charge $90/Hour for this kind of a service.
Infact we can run a NO OBLIGATION TRIAL for a couple of days for you to test waters with us.
Write to me at rossm@zenithsoft.com and we can explore options..
Sincerely Ross Marian

There are alternatives to offshoring the research. I offer a pricing plan that is compatible to the offshore companies and I bring to the table over ten years of experience partnering with recruiters delivering candidate pipelines, sourcing strategies, competitive intelligence and market research. I will send you a message with more details.
