Recruiter asked for my SSN for AT&T position!!

I was just laid off and responded to an online ad for a Writer position (ready to take a break from recruiting and sales for awhile). After talking with the recruiter and agreeing to have my resume submitted to AT&T, he tells me that their ATS system requires my SSN. Without it, he can't submit me. Said the system was something like eTemp, but I not sure of the pronunciation or spelling. (Recruiter was an Indian lad).

I told him I'd have to think about it and get back to him. I've been in this business for 25 years, and have submitted candidates to ATS systems, but have never heard of revealing the SSN to another party as a condition of being submitted.

The more I think about it, the more bogus it sounds. I can't imagine AT&T opening themselves up to issues of identity theft simply to track someone as a candidate.

Anyone ever heard of this happening?

Three questions

I am wondering if anybody knows of a source other than Business Wise for info on Atlanta Businesses? I have RefUSA already, and know how to access Selectory thru the library.

Also any ideas on the best software for a solo recruiter out there? Something that sits on your desktop without need for a server.

Third and last, what is really working for you when it comes to email marketing? Any great ideas?

Thanks!!

Offshore sourcing

Hello all,

I have seen a number of offers recently for offshore souring operations charging as little as $5/hour. We are looking for simple name generation from electronic sources only (job boards, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and don't need telephone sourcing. Does anyone have experience with any of these low cost providers - either good or bad?

Thank you.

I am an HR Professional looking for a job in Metro-Atlanta!

I am yet another result of the economic slump and have returned to the job market seeking employment. I would really like to stay in the metro-Atlanta area because my family is settled here and I really love the area. If anyone knows of any openings, could you please let me know. It can be part-time, full-time or contract. I am processing personal income tax returns during tax season just to keep in circulation. I could draw unemployment but that is not really for me if I have a choice to work. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a J-O-B

Hello,

I am looking for a Corporate Recruiting position. I have been in HR more than 7 years. But my passion is finding PHENOMENAL people and CONNECTING them with PHENOMENAL companies.

I would like to stay in Atlanata - but I can relocate anywhere. (well not...IDAHO)

I specialize in Retail Executives - but I have had to staff IT Divisions, Accounting Departments, Logistics/Shipping, and Engineers. I am an excellent resource for Diversity Recruiters. I have even developed College Recruitment programs.

I am good at what I do. I am passionate about it!

I am realizing that HR is challenging, but Talent Acquisiton gives me the biggest thrill!

Does anyone know of a position that is open right now?

Hiring Non-Tobacco Users Only

We have a client that is thinking of hiring only non-tobacco users in the future. As I understand it, from our past benefits attorney, you can supposedly do this in GA because there is no lifestyle discrimination law. My question is not a legal one, but whether or not you might be able to refer us to a Georgia company that posed this question in their employment application and/or who may have based some of their hiring criteria on whether or not the applicant is a tobacco user?

THANKS!
