AzProfessional Recruiters Assn announces Community Outreach Programs for 2008 follow this discussion
The Arizona Professional Recruiters Association invites you to get involved in our Community Outreach activities. Our goal is to support local organizations with a combination of volunteer hours, cash and in-kind donations, and sponsorships. Our 2008 initiatives include working with:
Miracle in the Desert Every year since its inception, hundreds of homeless people and needy families from Society of St Vincent de Paul and CASS (Central Arizona Shelter Services) arrive at Rock Bottom in Ahwatukee for a Christmas Day celebration. Each guest receives a warm welcome and enjoy a traditional meal with all the trimmings. New gifts to be distributed include warm adult and children?s clothing, toys, children's books, and essentials. For more information about how you can help spread goodwill and cheer this holiday season, http://www.rockbottomrestaurantsinc.com/RockBottomWeb/RBI/RBFoundation/MiracleEvents.asp?eventID=30
Arizona Women?s Education & Employment (AWEE) In 1981, a few trailblazing Arizona women took on the challenge of changing lives through the dignity of work for the growing number of individuals in our community relying on welfare. Since that time, Arizona Women's Education & Employment (AWEE) has been successfully investing in women, families and this community through life and career success planning, training and support. Today, AWEE serves anyone seeking a way to support their families and themselves through work. Participants include women and men ages 14 to 70+, who are ready for a guiding hand, new skills and new options to consider. Participants may be currently employed or re-entering the workforce. Some participants have challenges with transportation or child care, while others seek assistance in polishing their resume or better management of their income. For more info, visit www.awee.org and check out their wish list http://www.awee.org/wishlist.html
Special Olympics Arizona The Mission of Special Olympics Arizona is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with disabilities, giving them opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Special Olympics Arizona?s vision is to help bring all persons with intellectual disabilities and closely-related developmental disabilities into the larger society where they are accepted, respected and given the chance to become useful and productive citizens.
