Hi, I am very new to recruiting, and I am currently sourcing for a Sr. Actuarial Analyst with 2+ years work experience. I have utilized Monster and Careerbuilder, but would like to know if there is a better site for actuaries, such as actuary.com. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you, Traci Cromwell

Hi Traci! I agree with John. I would try the Society of Actuaries website. They are a great resource and can provide some great candidates. I also agree that you should court them rather than cold call.
Good luck!

Also, have you considered outsourcing?
Hudson Recruiting offers interm help and can provide assistance with risk management and other tasks actuaries perform. If you can't find a candidate right away, I would consider looking into us. Especially if you need these responsibilties taken care of ASAP. Send me a message if you have any questions, would love to help!

Actuaries can be a tricky bunch to recruit. I would go to the Society of Actuaries website, look up some of the board members and 'Google' their names, which should yield some additional names and firms. Once you have the firms, figure out the email protocol for the firms and send email messages to the actuaries there, saying that you have an opportunity and respect that they are working, but could they give you their home emails for a discussion concerning the position. Actuaries, by their nature, are very risk-averse (that is what they do for a living, analyze risk), and probably are worried that their companies are monitoring their corporate emails. I would then engage the one or two you may get a response from in a dialogue selling your particular opportunity, then schedule time for a phone call one evening. If this seems a bit time-consuming, it is, but you may find it to work better than trying to cold calling them. I would think they'd be inclined to hang up. Good luck. Traci,
Definitely try the Society of Actuaries website. In addition, you may want to check out some career centers for universities and colleges that offer Actuarial Science for undergrad. and grad. programs. Tap into the current actuarial employee pool and ask for referrals - that's a great way to get good leads as well.
Good luck!

Your best bet for finding Actuaries to contact is the Society of Actuaries. There is an online directory that lets you sort by geography and expertise. I have pasted the URL for you below. Remember, Actuaries are very conservative when it comes to considering a job change so you will have to have a very effective value-proposition to present when you contact them. Good luck!

You ask where they are - they're sitting inside companies that hire them doing the actuarial analyzing work they're trained and hired to do - insurance companies first and foremost! Go into those.
But HOW, you ASK?
Ahhh, the flummox of the thing...
