Is this a good time to start into Healthcare Recruiting with Health Reform in process? follow this discussion
I have owned my own recruitment firm for three years and am thinking of getting into healthcare recruitment. i have done a lot of research and feel like it would be a good fit. Now that our government is pushing forward with health care reform, do you feel this will the opportunity for healthcare recruiters?

This is a very interesting (and scary) question. If after government reform there still exists a shortage of healthcare professionals, government agencies and facilities will still need talent, but their way of procuring talent or to outsource hiring of talent will be via bid process. Lowest price is heavily weighted in who gets to play. The flexibility often needed to be successful in healthcare recruiting morphs into rigid square peg-ness. It is possible to build a business with government contracting...I've done it. But it's gettin' harder every day, and I honestly don't know what will happen with healthcare reform. We have never been at this exact place before...there is no similar precedent to reference.
