Is this a Problem?? What would you do with an email like this fron your best client? follow this discussion
Any problems noted here? How would you respond to your best client that shared this news???
Hello all,
We had a meeting with the hiring managers yesterday and a new criteria was set for our positions, we now require that any candidates submitted have no more than 20 years of experience, any candidates over 20 years of experience will be turned down, this is due to the hiring managers stating that we are "full to the brim" of 20+ year employees and need to be looking for below that.
Thank you!"

I concur with Bonita's apprisal of the situation. This note looks really bad and sets the client organization up for a potential age discrimination situation...And we all have heard how internal memos end up being made very public. This is an opportunity to reinforce the value-added aspects of your relationship with this client by discreetly bringing this to their attention with the intention of saving them future embarrassment or worse.

Though poorly communicated, there may be succession planning or diversity issues here. There is value in diversity, but care has to be taken to not discriminate against one group in order to diversify. I would probably give the client a call to discuss the situation and quietly tell them that this email looks really bad.
