Are your efforts Fruitful? Are all of your energies being driven into the right places in order to get the right candidates?
Remember: we are required to be resourceful and creative, but that also requires us to do our homework and know where the most time should be spent to find the right candidates.
Here is a great example:
"I've got a great idea for recruitment", said one of my co-workers!
"The Bulletin board at the corner grocery store. I want to get someone local."
LAUGH? Me Too. So I asked her to tell me about it. "I listed our high skilled management opening below the Babysitter For hire ad, and right above For Sale, Bolo-flexer Exercise machine (practically new). I'm telling you, this was a diversity bulletin board." O.K. - maybe they are on to something (I'm a pretty imaginative person and open to any possibility) I asked her: "what kind of numbers did you pull down for resumes/candidates?
"Well, the response numbers were to die for...we got resumes...we got walk-ins...gee! One of them (I'll never forget her name), Olga Baclatura actually brought us a cabbage pie."
"You Sold Me", I told her. How many hires did you get?
She sighed a long sigh: "Honestly; in the end, like a job board, we got lots of candidates but nobody fit."
