Is Turnabout Fair Play? SEM for the Job Seeker follow this blog post

This blog (PRSquared) is an eye-opener.

The writer is a Principal in a PR firm, SHIFT. He was "targeted" on his Facebook page with an ad that said "SHIFT should hire me" and then went on to explain how the ad's author could help the firm.

Several other members of the firm also saw the ad on their Facebook pages.

You gotta love it. I'm adding it to my list of "disruptive" suggestions for job seekers.

This interesting note was passed on to me by Joe Shaker, Jr. Thanks Joe.

That's a nice piece and a good example of micro targeting an employer EXACTLY the way good recruiters target potentila candiates.  Here's a piece I was quoted in with the Washington Post in support ogf my newest book Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0.  It's All About Who You Know -- and Who They Know: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/24/AR2009012400586_pf.html

I saw this blog, too, and thought it was interesting how enthusiastic the author was about the targeted ad. Mostly, it caught my eye because I recently wrote a post on unconventional job search tactics on The Hiring Site (http://tr.im/o9ES) that generated a debate from several commenters over the appropriateness of these tactics - there seems to be a sharp divide on what some people view as creative and others see as annoying or even intrusive...pretty interesting stuff.

Our "all time favorite" to get attention from a decision maker (which we do not recommend) when a Decision maker says he "never has time" is to send your Resume on a Roll of Toilet Paper!

We at Reachmycoach.com (website under construction!)instead recommend developing a verbal/text/email/voice mail message and not a Resume......
