I blogged here back in early February, 2008 with some thoughts on expanding your LinkedIn network. At that time I had a total of almost 8 million connections and set the next goal to reach 10 million. I reached that number yesterday. That in itself is no big deal. What's interesting is how quickly I added 2 million connections. My total connections increased 25% from 8 million to 10 million from February 9, 2008 until May 25, 2008. That's about 3.5 months. What's more interesting is that my network increased almost automatically by accepting invitations that I received. I talked about how you have to Prime the Pump in my earlier blog. That really is my experience. Once you do the work and get things flowing, it takes very little effort to keep things flowing while you watch your network grow.
