Tis the season to attend Career Fairs, falalalalalalalala...And just like anything, they can range from good to not so good. College Fairs are all around $500 and draw the grads and soon to be grads to the table. These are pretty solid. If you hire one, it is worth the outlay. The Fairs tied to the local job market are a good choice too because thay cost $50 to $100 to set up your wares and smiles and can often uncover that diamond in the rough. The E-fairs, Internet site fairs are very expensive... $700 to $1000. These can be tied to the local big city paper whose publisher owns the e-sites as well. With ROI always the focus with recruiters, I "ain't" convinced they are worth upwards of a grand to stand behind a table. The best ones are YOUR on-site early evening fairs. Interviews happen right away and these candidates who show up are not in your lobby for the hot dogs and the autographed picture of the BIG BOSS. They are serious about a career. Not everybody who is at your fair table has that same focus. Happy hunting!
