There was this conventional myth, that when the time came for a departement head to be prome as a CEO, HR heads were always invariably the last choice. The clear cut favorites were the Sales/Marketing heads or the Finance heads.
But the scene in India is changing. With more HR heads inducted on the board of directors, the conversion ratio to a CEO is also increasing.
Now a days the HR heads are encouraged to attain the board meeting due to their unique insight they can offer from the employee perspective.
Statistics show that last year, In US about 15% of H Heads sat in the CEO's chair.The number in India uis about 2%, which analysts believe will increase in the near future.
