Military Talent

As a prior-enlisted, Naval Academy graduate, candidate at military fairs and placement teams, hiring manager, agency recruiter, and now a military staffing manager at Sears Holdings, I wanted to see a blog that tied it all together; a one-stop shop for MILITARY TALENT. This blog is to share "mentoring" and "networking" between candidates, recruiters, and clients. The battle for top military talent is getting more challenging due to lower percentages of recruits entering the armed forces, and steps taken to keep folks in ($). Let's share our best practices and lessons learned.

....especially the August issue (GIJOBS.net), where you'll see a really ugly irish guy in dress whites under the feature story on retail!

If you've seen a recent edition of "G.I. Jobs" magazine, (www.gijobs.net out of Coraopolis PA) best practices encompassed within military recruiting disciplines (including executive and diversity) have all received extensive press. I've reached out to recruiters documented in the publications "Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers" and received a wealth of information regarding success stories and best practices. Its a great publication for anyone interested in not reinventing the wheel in this recruiting space. (NOTE: I don't work for this publication).
