Martin Snyder's Passing Scene

A weblog for the experienced consumer of factoids; welcome and enjoy.

The Passing Scene is cross-posting follow this blog post

When ERE did its last redesign, it removed the blog headline feed from the front page, which cut the number of readers, comments, and exposure dramatically.  That coincided with a lag in my own blogging, which I tend to really do more of in the Winter months.   Here in sunny Cleveland, Ohio,  its not smart to blog on sunny days- they must be enjoyed when they come.....

So when I have been blogging , I found myself at Cheezhead (who then also did a redesign to similar effect) and now mostly at RecruitingBlogs.com.   Jason is doing a great job with the site, but I also really enjoy the ERE community and David's efforts over the years, so I think I will cross-post for awhile and see how that works out.

My current post on RB is

http://www.recruitingblogs.com/profiles/blogs/john-thains-office-the-ground

I will probably cross-post here and there whenever I have something to say more than a line or two.....

Martin- I just wanted to let you know that your post, because it supported my own instincts on the topic, has spurred me to action. I wrote this post with a challenge for all of us to think of one way to improve community discussion on board. Here is my post, I hope you'll consider participating.

I want to thank you for raising this issue Martin. Blogging for ERE has, in recent months, been like shouting into a cave. There is no feeling of community, nor are there any incentives (like leaving a URL) to encourage people to leave a comment on any post. Not that the registration system makes it easy for them to engage with us.

    Hey Martin,

We have some huge changes to the network and blogs coming up in the next few weeks that I think you'll be really happy with.

Keep on blogging, no matter where you choose do it - I always enjoy reading your posts!
