Dirty Rotten Recruiting Scoundrels follow this blog post

I might piss off a lot of Recruiters here, but who cares.

Recruiters can't be trusted. Right up there with Car Salesmen and boiler room Stock Brokers, we are some of the slickest back hand dealing corporate raiders in all the land.

We are the group of scoundrels at every convention trying to collect candidates.

We are the ones standing at the elevator handing out business cards.

We are the ones writing blogs on how to circumvent gate keepers.

We are the party crashers.

We are the drunken idiots streaking through the college quads.

However,

We are the ones that everybody wants to connect with on LinkedIn in a bad economy.

We are the reason why companies have retention programs during a good economy.

We are the reason why compensation is reviewed yearly.

And yes...

We are the ones that know how to have a good time at the Christmas Party.

Sure we are a scary bunch. We are the Devils rejects.

The only corporate department that will take us in is Human Resources. It's true. Accounting hates us. Marketing despises us. IT fears us and Legal has to warn us time and time again.

Who cares!

While our boring counterparts, the HR Generalists, are sipping eggnog at this years Christmas party, we will break away to where the fun is and start a rocking party.

So raise a toast and give thanks to what it means to be a Recruiter this year.

And Rock on!

Those of us left standing after the ravages of recruiting past,  appreciate all the positive attributes.  They'll definitely be many hopeful toasts this year...and onto the next with renewed enthusiasm and professionalism!

Certainly some truth to that (he says with a tinge of shame)!  Since we are definitely tied to HR, here is a quote I picked up in an article: "To borrow from an unattributed source, the "real" HR professional has this profile: - The brains of Einstein. - The charisma of Kennedy. - The negotiating skills of Kissinger. - The marketing skills of Iacocca. - The hide of a rhinoceros. - The soul of Mother Teresa. - The stamina of Jackie Joyner-Kersee."
