everyone, even a two year old, has their hot button. Make it a game for the toddler. "Come on, let's play with Daddy...see how many toys you can pick up with Daddy...put the ball in the blue bin; which one is the blue bin?...good!"
For a teenager, hit them where it hurts...(no I'm not talking about literally hitting them, even tho one may be sorely tempted)...If they want a cell phone, they must work for it. If they want to drive, they must pay for it...if not the car, then the gas and insurance. We're are literally abusing our kids by giving them everything.

Make kids work is easier to say than do :-)
What motivation do you use to make your 2 years old clean up?
What do you do if she refuses?
Would motivation would you use when she's older?
