I noticed that my good friend Shally is offering a linkedin webinar which looks pretty intriguing to me on a couple of fronts.  I have been reading a book called the ?The Little Red Book of selling? written by Jeff Gitomer.  My new outsourcing neighbor from Sumpraxis who is in the technology incubator with me, gave me this book to enhance my people skills, to better articulate our products, and to get a better close ratio.  The book discusses a lot of selling skills however, a majority of it speaks about  networking, personal brand, and people skills.  The personal branding excites me the most because some of these principles I have already been employing for a couple of years (one in which your reading right now) and some I've known of but didn?t take it to the next level.  Take for instance my name.  I have just registered my name domain (Jason Gorham) and will be working to get the new blog up this week.  The reason for this is two fold.  One is that I have a lot to say and a lot happening with the company, our vision, my vision and recruiting in general and I would like a format to do this in.  I was doing this on the old recruitingcareer.com however it didn?t fit what the company was doing as well as I wanted to reinforce my personal brand.  The other is social networking.  As I mentioned in a previous blog my good friend Dave Mendoza from Freescale Semiconductor has been assisting me with my Linkedin profile, (email my ere account if you would like to link to me) increasing my connections and promoting my personal brand.  Dave as well as Shally are guru?s in their personal branding and networking.  I can?t remember a week I didn?t get an email about a webinar, speaking engagement or newsletter regarding his use and technique.  These are only a few ways to brand yourself, stay tuned as I launch my new site and give you some more tips on how to self-brand yourself.
