How many resumes are out here that every recruiter knows fit the bill, but do not represent the

quality of the candidate behind them? Your candidate may possess every required skill and degree of experience your employer client is searching for, but if that resume does not paint a clear picture of what makes your candidate uniquely qualified to add measurable value to your client's bottom line, your candidate is nothing more than a commodity. Nobody gets excited about commodities.

 

Recently we've had an overwhelming response to our Resume Services department from applicants who had previously used outsourcing/outplacement companies to rewrite their resumes. They may in fact have helped them, by reformatting the resume to appear a bit more polished, but they failed in going the extra mile to ensure the candidate truly stood out from the hundreds of other equally qualified candidates competing for the same position. The result? Interviews for which the candidate was not a proper fit, wasting the employer's time (and yours), and diminishing the candidate's confidence. Or in the majority of cases, not getting the interview at all.

 

We know that outplacement companies do try their best, but unless you have a degree in marketing, editing, writing, and graphic design, it will be hard to help out a candidate who needs to be branded. "Personal Branding" has proven to be the single most important key to our success in getting candidates quality interviews. 

 

We are pleased to announce that EVERY CANDIDATE who has taken resume services from us has landed an interview or a position.  Granted, not all of the prospective employers used Leap Career for recruitment services, however, these candidates will remember us. And when they exceed company expectations, and their employer asks where they came from -- Leap Career will roll off their tongues. 

 

The economy will change. There will be another "up" job market. But it's incumbent upon us as recruiters to make sure that we help people, even absent the luxury of making $30,000 a month like before the market crashed.  Our names are what we have to live by, and in the current job market, reputation is the only accepted currency. Take a step back and help these candidates. We offer outside recruiters, with candidates who need superior resumes, the opportunity to work with our resume consultants -- and be paid per resume --  for us to do an EXPERT job!
